Privacy Policy — Trace Read

The short version
Trace Read does not collect, store or share any personal data. The trace and power-meter files you open are read on your own device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Files you open
When you open an OTDR trace (.sor, .trc) or a power-meter record (.opm), the app reads it in memory on your phone, tablet or computer to show you the results. The file is not sent over the network, not kept by the app after you close it, and not modified. Job and technician names you type for a printed report stay on your device.
No accounts, analytics or advertising
There is no sign-in. The app contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting code, and makes no network requests of its own. The website version loads only its own files from traceread.practicalbyteapps.com; our web host necessarily sees standard connection information (such as IP address) to deliver those files, and we do not use it to identify you.
Purchases
If the app offers an optional purchase, payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their privacy policies. We receive no card or billing details; the app only learns whether the purchase is active on your device.
Children
Trace Read is a professional tool for fiber technicians and is not directed to children.
